This kayak is an original Peter Hunt design based on a turn-of-the-century Herreshoff steam yacht.

We have modified the design to include a ‘hidden’ electric motor powered by a 12 volt battery. Although other small boats have electric motors attached to their exterior, our hidden feature is unique for a kayak.

The hull is rather deep with a flared bow. The hull is traditional wood strip while the deck is Honduras mahogany panel.

The 12 volt motor provides 30 pounds of thrust which easily moves the kayak through currents and high winds. The 5 forward speeds and 2 reverse speeds are all controlled by the simple rotary switch in the cockpit.

With this kayak you can paddle out and power back home.
